SESSION DESCRIPTION:  Critical Thinking Skills and Methods for Continuous Project Improvement - An objective, measurable process for discovering project cost-avoidance opportunities and leveraging repeatable efficiencies.

In 2003, Kathleen (see Bio below) began to leverage extensive group facilitation training to develop a comprehensive, objective, consistent methodology for post-project review sessions. The sessions create measurable benchmarks for the teams which can be tracked and improved upon over time. Each session also reports unidentified / unmanaged risk patterns and/or repeatable efficiencies, which are quantified in the session. This allows each project to understand the related dollar-values of those innovated efficiencies or risks. This methodology has a follow-on processes (a second full day workshop) to ensure that corporate lessons are embedded in the organization, and organizational roadblocks to success are identified and managed.

Workshop #1 - Planning and conducting the session, generating reports

In this day-long session, you will be shown a complete method for conducting sessions and generating session reports.

The workshop includes:

  4. Strategies and techniques for ensuring fair representation and fair data collection
  5. The difference between Project Closure data and critical thinking session results
  6. Session components
  7. Various session methods and data collection tools
  8. Approaches to data processing and reporting
  9. Baselining and benchmarking for improvement

There will be interactive exercises as well as case studies.
